Sinnoh

Although Aurora wanted to work towards her goal and get into training already, she also wanted to discover as many places as possible. The took a look at the map of Sinnoh and noticed the region was quite big; it would take a lot of work out of her to explore all of that, but that was why she was getting more excited about it. She already had a Spheal and a Pikachu and her goal was to get as many different species as possible on her team, because she knew focusing on just one type could get her into trouble eventually. As she liked a lot of different Pokémon, she didn’t know what to go for, but she decides she would choose along the way of her journey. For now she wanted to visit a place called Lake Valor. Although she had been living in Sinnoh for quite a while, she didn’t know much about the environment and she heard that the lake was quite a sight to see. Aurora grabbed her backpack, her Poké Balls and let Blizzard out of her ball because she felt safer this way and she also liked to have the little Pokémon besides her. It didn’t take a lot of time for her to figure out where to go; as she was leaving from Pastoria City, she just had to continue her way. It took her only a while to find the lake and both her and her Spheal widened their eyes while looking at the beautiful lake. A little mist surrounded the area, but it didn’t really give Aurora an ominous feeling as she walked towards the lake, her eyes glittering while looking at the clear, blue water. This was beautiful.

As Aurora was looking into the beautiful clear water, she didn’t really notice the trainer that entered the lake as well and sat down so he could have a picknick with his Pokémon. It was only when she heard the low growl that she looked up, a shiver going trough her body. As she hated violence, she couldn’t stand the idea of being surrounded by an agitated Pokémon. She was glad she had her Spheal with her and she saw the little seal Pokémon rolling besides her, coming to a halt and standing protectively in front of Aurora. Aurora saw that it was a Gligar and she was a bit relieved when she found out it had a trainer, who was actually standing right behind it. The trainer apologized and Aurora felt that her heart stopped beating loudly as she realized it wasn’t the trainers intention of scaring her. ”It’s okay,” she reassured him, ignoring his flushed face. She knew what it was like to have the wrong attention focused on you and she didn’t want to think she was laughing at him for his Pokémon behaviour. ”Have you just caught her recently?” she asked the boy. It could be an explanation as to why his Pokémon was behaving like that. She softly asked her Spheal to retreat; the Pokémon moved a bit to the back, but still stood put so she could help her trainer when things would escalate quickly.

Blizzard didn’t back down as her eyes met those of the Gligar, giving her a slight warning glance. Aurora looked at her Pokémon and told her with her eyes to stop the fight, hoping her Spheal would listen. She knew how protective the Pokémon could be because of what happened to Aurora in the past, but Aurora hated violence and she didn’t want to get in trouble because her Pokémon couldn’t control herself. Luckily for her, Blizzard actually listened to her and backed off, but she kept her gaze a few times on the Gligar, making sure her trainer would not get hurt. Aurora listened to the boy as he told her how he got his Gligar and nodded at his question. ”I lived my whole life in Hearthome City. She hatched from an egg, which I got from an old lady after…” She stopped herself on time, noticing where this conversation was going. She didn’t want to tell the boy what happened to her, not after they met so shortly. She had to trust him to tell a story like that and even then it was not a story she liked to share. ”After certain circumstances,” she spoke softly, averting her eyes towards the ground. Her father’s death and everything that happened before he died still caused her nightmares and talking about it would only get her into that depressive shell she was in before she went to see a therapist. She didn’t want to go trough that again and she desperately searched for a different topic to discuss. ”I’m on my way to become a Champion,” she told him quickly, averting her eyes back to him and smiling. ”What about you?” she asked curiously.

”We do,” she replied, nodding to the boy. The two became close after spending a lot of time together and Aurora couldn’t imagine her life without her Spheal by her side. She would never trade her for another Pokémon and she hoped Blizzard and her would win the final fight someday. It scared her a little to think that Blizzard could get seriously hurt in a battle, but she knew that if she did not let her fears get to her, she would actually make a strong opponent. She knew how to strategize and she knew her strengths and weaknesses of her Pokémon very well. She looked at the boy when he told her he was a trainer as well. ”Then I hope to compete against you one day,” she told him with a soft smile. Maybe it was a good idea for him to get a closer bond with his Gligar before they got to that, though. Her gaze travelled towards the sandwiches he had and she shook her head at him. ”That’s sweet of you to offer, but I don’t want to take what’s rightfully yours. I’m not hungry anyway.” As soon as she said that, her stomach proved her wrong by growling loudly. Aurora felt her cheeks getting bright red and she heard Blizzard chuckle a bit. ”I’ll eat something later, please don’t feel obligated to offer me your food. I’m fine.” She still blushed a bit as she sat down, her gaze travelling back towards the boy. ”I’m Aurora by the way,” she quickly told him to distract him from her growling stomach and the matter at hands.
