[Finian] Sunny Side Up - zo apr 11, 2021 6:12 pm

The sun quietly slipped passed the horizon and turned the skies golden. Rosy looked upward through the trees, the leaves rustling slightly. She had spent the day training with Basil and Primrose and finally got the feeling she got the hang of controlling her Pokémon at least slightly. Primrose didn’t bolt anymore with the slightest interest that sparked within her and it relieved her immensely. She had returned her Growlithe to her Pokéball and sat down on a stump with Basil on her lap. With a quiet smile, she gave the Pokémon some Pokéfood, the owl snapping it up happily flapping its wings. It was a calming, comforting moment for her before she would return to the Pokémon Center. That was, until Basil snapped his head around exorcist style when he heard someone approach.

The sky was already coloured because of the falling evening, yet Finian did not want to go back to the Pokémon Center just yet. Exploring a new region had been more fun than he had initially expected it to be. It was not just that he was truly free to make his own decisions here, but everything was new and exciting. Even the most standard tasks.

Sure, it was maybe a little disappointing that the researchers started with such simple tasks here, but he could get over that. It would probably not take him too long to advance in rank and thus start on the more challenging tasks.

He had been lost in thought while wandering around until he came across a young blonde woman with a rowlett. It took him a moment to realize this was the exact same blonde who had been in the middle of evolving her growlithe when all those researchers decided to stand at a short distance to look at the event and note it down for their research. All those researchers, including him. Well, this was a little awkward, to say the least. Especially because the rowlett had already noticed him, which meant she would follow. Finn hoped she would not recognize him. "Eh, hi," he stumbled, showing her a smile.

When Basil snapped his head around, staring at a stranger, Rosy lifted her head as well. Across from her was a man with messy, russet coloured hair and green eyes. Luckily, he looked kind and was her age, otherwise she had to wonder whether she had met her estranged father who had shed his fedora. If she remembered correctly, her mother once mentioned vaguely that it was good that she hadn't gotten the man's red hair and another time that his eyes were green. One lesson she had learned though, men with fedora were bad news.

The man looked kind of awkward though, even though he looked like he had a sweet nature. Not that much of a surprise, though, as her Rowlet was giving him a death stare. "Good afternoon," she said with a smile before tapping her Rowlet on the head, "Don't worry about this one, he is moody but he wouldn't dare hurt a fly," she mentioned good naturedly. The Rowlet hooted a bit grumpily before folding his wings around himself and burying his face into his chest feathers, closing his eyes.
