Nestor Greaves
Trainer
| Wood was cracking all around him, making it almost as if the house itself was alife. Nestor was certain he’d already seen figures moving in the corners of his eyes, but when he would look, there was no one there. It was only because he had a reason, that he was here, otherwise he wouldn’t even have come close. For once even Cleo stayed nearby. He’d chosen to stay close to the exit and hopefully the pokémon he needed would show themselves any moment now. If he could avoid going deeper inside the house, he most definitely would. The faint light of his flashlight was not enough and he barely saw anything. Why did he think it was a good idea to come at night? That only made things worse than they already were. If something wanted, it could sneak up behind him and attack. As if something read his mind, he felt an ice cold chill over his spine, leaving a very unpleasant feeling. He quickly tried to recover and turned around, his light falling on a gastly that was hovering in the air, laughing at Nestor’s reaction. “This is it,” he said to Cleo who moved in front of him, ready for a battle. This would only be his second battle and the first time catching a pokémon, or at least trying to catch a pokémon. As a trainer he needed more pokémon and he also had to learn how to catch them. The Gastly was still laughing and oblivious to what was about to happen. “Use harden now that he doesn’t know we are about to attack them,” he told Cleo and he was relieved when she actually listened and tried to not catch the Gastly’s attention. “Now start off with a knock off.” His pokémon flew forward and hit the Gastly who only noticed they were being attacked when it was already too late. “And a poison attack now that they are still recovering.” Again she did what was told and hit her opponent. It would not do a lot, but the status effect might help them win this fight. Now it was their turn and the Gastly’s long tongue ran over Cleo, leaving her shaking on the ground. “Come on, get up,” he ordered his pokémon. She was trying to, but her body wouldn’t listen to her. Shit. Meanwhile their opponent used this change and moved through the wall to a different room. Nestor hurried towards his Gligar because they couldn’t let this pokémon escape. “You have to push through this, I know you can do it,” he said as he tried to get her back onto her feet. She was hesitant at first, but then gave a firm nod and stood up, her body still protesting. It did not stop her. Together with her trainer they moved to the second room where the Gastly didn’t notice them. They probably thought they’d scared them away. “Knock off!” he said louder than he wanted to. With a new found strength, Cleo attacked the Gligar and hit them. It was a shame that she didn’t know many moves, but they would finish this with what they got. “Another one.” The Gastly tried to avoid this one, but failed and got hit again. Again it seemed like they wanted to flee through the wall, to a different room. They almost made it too if it weren’t for Nestor. He’d grabbed a pokébal and threw it towards the pokémon who got sucked inside. The ball fell onto the ground and now he could only hope it was enough.
