It was night time. Hazel spent a lot of time training her Pokémon. The last time she was training in Eterna Forest, she got her butt kicked by a swarm of Murkrow and she vowed to never let that happen again, so she did some training and she saw that is was working out well for her Pokémon. Kai didn’t have any trouble beating the Murkrow around the forest and her other Pokémon were progressing as well. As she was aiming to get her second badge soon, she didn’t want to slack off and lose focus. As most of her Pokémon were tired, she returned them to their Poké Ball. She had Rex still out of his Poké Ball because she trusted him and she felt safe with him around her, knowing that his Protect could protect her against all of the attacks that might be thrown at her. She had her hands in the back pockets of her skinny jeans as she was walking towards the city, hoping the Pokémon Center would have a bed available so she didn’t have to share a room with someone else. It did work out last time, but maybe this time she wasn’t so lucky and after getting to know Shiro better, she didn’t know if she would get herself involved into a onenightstand again. Her gaze averted to the side when she heard someone talking and she stopped walking, looking at a boy who was preparing to evolve his Gligar. She snorted when nothing happened and she rolled her eyes. ”Are you serious?” she asked him, cocking her eyebrow. ”You could’ve at least done some research before you got that Razor Fang.” She rolled her eyes. ”I can help you with leveling up that Gligar?” she then proposed nonchalantly, crossing her arms and lifting her eyebrows again.

”What you apparently didn’t do, was do enough research to know how to evolve your Pokémon,” Hazel replied dryly when he told her he didn’t buy the Razor Fang. She didn’t care what he did with it. But she did care how he used it and maybe she also cared a little if his Pokémon would evolve or not, although she probably wouldn’t ever admit that out loud. She let her gaze travel to the Gligar and contemplated which Pokémon she would use. She could use Nymphe, but would give her a huge advantage and that wasn’t entirely fair towards the boy and his Gligar. So she nodded at Rex, inviting him to engage in the upcoming battle. Rex made a happy sound and ran forward, standing in front of his trainer with a serious expression. ”Rex, start off with a Rock Slide!” she told her Pokémon sternly. That she didn’t use the Pokémon that would have a huge advantage over the Gligar, didn’t mean she would take it easy on him. As Rex gathered rocks around him so he could throw it at the Gligar, she crossed her arms and looked at the boy sternly, waiting for him to make his own move.

Hazel gave the boy a nod when he told his Gligar to go up in the air. He evaded the rocks flying towards him by doing so. She frowned a bit when he told his Gligar to go to her Jangmo-o, seeing that he lost a lot of his speed while avoiding the rocks Rex threw at him. There was lack off experience and it truly started to show when he engaged into battle, but Hazel wasn’t going to go easy on him for that. The Gligar would eventually feel the pressure of the battle and she hoped for the boy that that would be enough for the Pokémon to evolve.”Rex, jump in the air and take him on with your Headbutt!” she told her Jangmo-o. ”Try to cause a flinch and then attack with your Dragon Tail!” She heard her Jangmo-o yelling back at her, letting her know he understood what he needed to do and she saw that his tail started to glow white, crossing her arms and looking at the boy with a frown. What would he do?

Although the Headbutt was a success, the ability to make the Gligar flinch wasn’t. Hazel grazed her teeth as the Gligar flew away, avoiding her Dragon Tail. ”Use Protect!” she quickly yelled as the Gligar tried to hit her Jangmo-o with a Sand Attack. The negative side of Protect was that it only avoided one attack and that her Jangmo-o didn’t have enough time to recover to avoid the second attack, which meant that Poison Tail was a direct hit. What was worse, was that her Jangmo-o started to glow purple after that, meaning that he now had a poisoned status. ”Muk,” Hazel silently cursed under her breath, but she wasn’t going to let this distract her from her fight. It meant that the fight would get tougher, but what was the fun with a battle that was too easy? ”Rex, try to hit her with your Rock Slide now she’s flying closely to the ground. Try to throw them so it will be hard for her to fly her way out of this!” she yelled at her Pokémon, who was getting weakened by the poison. His eyes were still clear when he yelled back and he started to use his Rock Slide, aiming for the Gligar.

Hazel grazed her teeth as the Gligar managed to avoid the rocks. All except one. The rock hurt her wing and while it would all be resting on good luck for Hazel to win this fight, this wasn’t a bad thing. If her wing hurt too much, she couldn’t fly towards the sky and that was a good thing. The Quick Attack wasn’t a surprise to Hazel, Gligar evolving into a Gliscor was. It would have more power than when she was a Gligar and Hazel only knew one thing to do. It would be a bit of a risky move, but she would just have to go with it. ”Rex, take her head on with your Headbutt!” she told him. This could either cause her to win the fight or to lose it, but at least she had an attack that would cause them to collide with each other and then it would be the strongest who would survive. Her chances were slight because of the poisoned status, but Rex’s Headbutt was the strongest he had aside from Dragon Tail, so she would guess her chances to win or lose were as good as any. It would all depend on this one attack but she knew that if the Gliscor would survive this, her Jangmo-o would be knocked out cold with the next attack.
