The screech was still ringing in his ears and even though the pokémon had stopped, he could still hear it. It was loud enough to even scare the man away who left his motorcycle. Hopefully it was still there when he eventually came back for it. Nestor sighed deeply as he lowered his hands which he had placed over his ears against the noise. Out of the corners of his eyes he saw Seth fly around like nothing happened. “You really have to stop that,” he sighed, knowing the pokémon was not listening. What life as a trainer had told him, was that there was still hope for them. Nestor only needed to give him more time.
Cleo also returned and landed before him on the ground. “You scared him good, didn’t you,”he said with a smile. With his pokémon by his side, he felt a lot safer when he walked around alone. There was no saying what that man might have done if he didn’t have them with him.
Everyone’s attention was caught by some footsteps in the dark. Cleo ready to immediately attack whatever it was if it looked like a threat. Nestor had to squeeze his eyes to see what emerged from the shadows. A dark-colored pokémon with no visible eyes. It was one he has never seen before. As quick as possible he grabbed his pokédex and scanned the pokémon. Apparently, it was a deino and a dragon type. Cleo didn’t seem to trust the pokémon, but because nothing happened, she did not move from her spot. The pokédex kept talking, saying that the pokémon was blind and would bite in everything.
The Deino took careful steps towards Nestor. A part of him wanted to step away, but he was also curious what the pokémon might do. Which was- stupid, especially after hearing what the pokédex had to say.
A lot of things happened all at once. The deino sniffed at his feet and then quickly set his teeth in his shoe. While his shoe took most of the damage, he could still feel the pain radiating from his foot. A scream echoed through the tunnels. At the same time, Cleo shot into action and used quick attack. The Deino didn’t see her coming and was forced to let go when he got hit. The pokémon was taken aback by the sudden events and it seemed like he had no idea what to do. It even looked to be panicking.
Nestor limped towards a large rock and sat down so he could inspect the damage, but he also had no time to do so. Cleo was clearly angry and hit the Deino again with a Feint Attack leaving the pokémon desoriëntated. “Cleo maybe you should not-,” but then he stopped talking. He came here looking for a new pokémon that he could add to his team. This Deino was still young, but it looked like a great addition to his team. “Forget that, try to get close and use Poison sting.” It was always nice to inflict damage over time. The Deino was still toot disoriëntated to avoid the attack, but when Cleo made contact with him and poisoned him, the Deino in return bit down, not letting go of Cleo. He moved his head and sent the Gligar flying through the air, only stopping when she hit a stone wall.
Cleo needed some time to recover, but she was quickly in the air again. “When you attack, do your best to get away as soon as possible and be quiet when you fly.” The Deino was blind and they could use that to their advantage as Cleo could fly. For a second he looked at Seth, but he did not trust him enough.
Nestor noticed how the Deino was trying to find Cleo, but couldn’t. He knew it would not take long, so they had to move quickly. “Use another feint attack.” Cleo moved quickly and managed to hit the Deino again, this time she was quick enough to avoid an incoming attack. “Get on the walls and stay quiet.” This might be the only way they could win this fight.
It was clear the Deino didn’t like this anymore. For a moment he was concentrating and then a purple cloud emerged from his mouth. He moved his head to spread it around and no matter how hard Cleo tried, she got hit by it. “There! In that crack, hide until I tell you it’s safe to come back.” Nestor pointed at a spot in the wall where Cleo disappeared into. It took a while, but eventually, the purple smoke disappeared again. “Use quick attack and immediately go back to the wall.” Cleo rushed towards the Deino, hitting him with a quick attack before clinging to the wall. “Same thing again,” Nestor said, and again Cleo managed to hit the purple dragon type.
When Cleo was at the wall again, she struggled for a moment, finding it difficult to get a good grip. It worried Nester. Maybe he was asking too much of her while she didn’t have that much practice, to begin with, but this was not the moment to quit. “Use roots to heal a bit.” He wanted her to rest for a moment before they would continue.
The Deino seemed to understand that he was safe for now and took the opportunity to change targets. Because he did not know where Cleo was, he turned back to Nestor who was sitting on his rock. Luckily for Cleo, she noticed the Deino running towards her trainer and before Nestor could get hit, she hit him with another quick attack.
But their opponent was done with playing nice and he immediately went after Nestor again. This time Cleo was not quick enough, her body didn’t seem to work for a moment. It gave the Deino enough time to run towards Nestor and jumped up, planning on hitting him with a tackle. All the young man could think of to prevent from getting hit, was a pokébal. Just in time, he got one and as the Deino nearly hit him, he pressed the ball against it.
With a red flash, the pokémon disappeared into the pokéball.
